Discover Galaxidi
Galaxidi, the prettiest resort along the Gulf of Corinth, is a seaside historic town in the Prefecture of Fokis and a municipal unit of the enlarged Municipality of Delphi. According to the legend, the origin of its name comes from ‘Galaxa’, the mythic mermaid. In 1978, the Greek Government proclaimed Galaxidi as a National Traditional Settlement, for the preservation of its folklore and traditional architecture. Its history and great maritime tradition, its mansions and churches that have survived to this day, its yacht marina -a midway resting point, following Corinth Canal crossing towards the Ionian sea Islands-, along with its touristic infrastructure and services, highlight Galaxidi as a quality and cosmopolitan tourist destination.
